Journey Forward: Career Exploration & Discovery Retreat

Future Dates & Location to be Determined

Hosted by Susan Gleissner

Do you dream of “something better” in your career but don’t know where to begin?

Are you seeking greater meaning and purpose in your career?

Are you trying to rekindle or redefine your relationship with your career?

Are you feeling burnt out and in need of a career reset?

Do you enjoy small groups and big conversations?

Are you ready to discover what’s next in your career?

The Experience

Reconnect with yourself in one of the most tranquil and restorative places in the midwest while you explore your career possibilities and discover your path to what’s next.

This small group retreat is designed to create connections while also honoring the need for mutual respect, confidentiality and support. To do so, the retreat starts before the group comes together with a one-on-one coaching session, virtual “Meet Your Circle” session, and a walking meditation to prepare you for our time in person together.

Between career exploration workshops, you will have time to reflect, immerse yourself in nature, and rest. Activities like yoga, meditation, sauna, forest bathing and more are also included to support your discovery process.

Each night (weather permitting), the small group will gather around a campfire to reflect on the day, capture insights and celebrate each other’s progress.

The retreat doesn’t end when you leave Wild Rice Retreat. You will have access to a one-on-one coaching session and ongoing resources to support you in your journey forward.

Wild Rice Retreat is located on Lake Superior in Bayfield Wisconsin. It was recently named among the 23 Best Places to Go in the US by Condé Nast Traveler and among the 13 Best Nature Resorts in the US by Travel + Leisure.

Delicious and thoughtfully curated farm-to-table meals are included. All participants will have individual space, including a private bathroom, for rest and recovery in a beautifully designed modern Scandinavian pod.

Who is your host?

Susan Gleissner

After 13 years in a career as an engineering leader, Susan reimagined herself as a leadership coach and organization development consultant. This significant career change tapped into her love of coaching and developing others through periods of growth and transition. Relationships matter to Susan, and you’ll sense that from the moment you begin working with her.

As part of her career journey, Susan has earned coaching credentials from both Gallup and the International Coaching Federation. These credentials coupled with her own career transition and leadership experiences inform her approach to coaching. Confidentiality, mutual respect and discovery are central to her approach.

She believes that life is better with adventure – so much that she created an adventure travel blog to inspire others to tap into their sense of adventure. And, despite traveling to the far corners of the world, she also believes that your career just may be your life’s greatest adventure. Adventure is a mindset that centers exploring new possibilities, expanding your boundaries and overcoming obstacles. Consider her your career adventure coach.

Susan loves small group conversations about big topics. And, above all, nature is where she goes to find clarity and peace. The Journey Forward retreat is designed around all of these beliefs.
